Head and neck cancers usually begin in the tissues and organs of the head and neck (eg, larynx, lips, mouth, nose, throat, and salivary glands). Use of tobacco, excessive drinking, and infection due to human papillomavirus (HPV) increase the risk of developing such cancers.
