Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that begins in the melanocyte cells. Melanoma is usually brown or black in appearance but can also show up as tan, pink, or white. It’s less common than other skin cancers, but it’s considered more serious because it has a greater likelihood of spreading.
Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare form of skin cancer that is more likely than common skin cancers to spread. Once it has spread, it can be very difficult to treat.
