Head and neck cancer clinical trials study investigational medications alone, or in combination with other study medications, or standard of care therapy.

Head and neck cancers usually begin in the tissues and organs of the head and neck (eg, larynx, lips, mouth, nose, throat, and salivary glands). Use of tobacco, excessive drinking, and infection due to human papillomavirus (HPV) increase the risk of developing such cancers.

There is a lot to consider when deciding whether to participate in a clinical trial. Any clinical trial includes risks, which the study doctor will review with you. Make sure you understand the risks before participating.
